Session — Port Carverton. Browser client / WebGPU.

WebGPU

You and your friends open the same address. The client asks for a secure context, then starts a WebGPU device. Asher tested in Brave. If Safari will not start the device, use a Chromium browser with hardware acceleration on. On one machine the menu held near 144 frames, a session near 122, and the Coach Frank loading screen near 36. Those numbers are one machine, not a promise of 360.

The fan game

skate. 3 is a fan-made WebGPU client that puts Port Carverton in the browser. Asher, who also goes by aaddpp, built it in Rust and ships it from Pennsylvania. Electronic Arts and Black Box did not make it, do not endorse it, and do not support it.

Where the bytes come from

The download is your converted copy. The server hosts no game content and only runs the engine. A pack zip still sits at gamedata.xposed.wtf. You bring a legally owned copy, converted on your own machine. Build 9798389b2cfa is the client in play. The host carries one custom character, a glb plus json plus a 256 by 320 preview, and no city maps.

On 8 October the first tab was still Freeskate and the map entry was still World. By 9 October those labels are Skate and Choose World. Build 9798389b2cfa shows that later pair on the CrossBar.

Choose World is the first real decision, because it picks the ground under the board. University, Downtown, and Industrial are the heavy cities. The parks are lighter files. MegaPark is hidden and is not a shortcut around University. The full park geometry sits inside the University map.

Difficulty sits beside the world: Easy gives more air, Normal is the everyday board, and Hardcore makes landings fail. Lite Mode and Full Quality are graphics rows, not a fourth difficulty. Lite asks phones first, sets shadows to 0, turns anti-aliasing off, and scales the image to 75.

Who answers for the client

Asher publishes as aaddpp and posts as @aaddpp_vmp. The loading card and the title screen both carry root@aaddpp.lol. That mailbox is the client author. Bugs in the browser build go there, or to the project Discord.

You do not buy this client. The play address is the live client. Asher’s own site, aaddpp.lol, is separate from Port Carverton. Under ONLINE the ways in are Host a Session, Find a Session, and Join with a Code.

On 8 October the rebuilt CrossBar is the menu in the 229 second clip. Spot Battle was named the same day and is not a row you can select.

A first drop-in

Open a Chromium window with hardware acceleration already on, and wait until the WebGPU device is actually up. Choose World is the decision that changes the ground under the board. For a first run, take the light school park rather than a heavy city. University, Downtown, and Industrial are the big files, and they are the wrong place to learn the pop.

Set Difficulty, then press Skate. Easy is the forgiving board, with more air and fewer bails. Normal is the daily board. Hardcore is the board that bails a crooked landing. Those three sit in FREESKATE. If a phone is struggling to draw the park, open OPTIONS and take Lite Mode: texture quality 3, shadows 0, anti-aliasing 0, scale 75. That row changes the picture. It does not change how the landing is judged.

Open a page

Set the world and the picture, learn the stick, open a session, read the eleven loading lines, and see what changed in the first public week.
